The Journey started in 2008, at the age of 15 years old. After becoming the victim of a crime and going to the police for help, I experienced a wide range of injustices from my local Law Enforcement Agency to include being victim blamed. This was a devastating blow to myself, and my family, who ultimately believed the law and police would protect victims when they needed help.
A short time later, the suspect went on to commit a nearly identical crime against another young female. After this situation I was left feeling helpless, let down, hurt but mostly mad. I wanted to ensure that no victim would ever experience the same injustices I did. Because of this, I enrolled in a Criminal Justice Course the following school year and the rest was history.
I fell in love with Criminal Justice, Advocacy and the desire to create positive working relationships between community and Law Enforcement. I made the commitment to myself that I would become a Police Officer and I would make sure no one EVER endured what I had while I was serving my community.
After 6+ years serving in Law Enforcement I chose to continue my education and pursue a career in Law. I began my career in law as a Legal Assistant, eventually attending Paralegal School at the University of Texas at Austin, Extended Campus, Continuing & Professional Education, in order to become a Certified Paralegal. I have worked within large firms throughout San Antonio in the capacity of a Paralegal, also providing first hand knowledge of Law Enforcement training and how the "mind of a police officer" works on cases for my firms.
After working in Private Law Firms, I came to a conclusion: Attorney's are a pricey luxury, one which not everyone can afford or needs regarding their legal matter. Just because you cannot afford an Attorney, does not mean you should be left high and dry. Law Firms can charge client's into the thousands for simple work which could be completed by most on their own if they knew how to proceed, had the determination and the drive to do it and learn how to efficiently represent themselves. I felt working within Private Law Firms was not where I was serving God, or the public, to the best of my capabilities and had to spend time figuring out where I felt I was being called to serve.
This was the beginning of "A Nosey Neighbor, Private Investigations".
I have focused the last 15 years on victim advocacy and outreach, helping others and ultimately serving the public as best as I can. I am involved with the San Antonio Feral Cat Coalition's Trap-Neuter-Release Program, I am a foster with Animal Care Services, I serve as a CASA Advocate, I am a Parent Volunteer at my children's school and I serve within the Children's Ministry at my Church as a Sunday School Teacher.
As a Police Officer, I volunteered to handle sensitive cases such as Sex Crimes, Child Abuse and Domestic Violence to ensure the victims were receiving the care and compassion needed while going through a life changing event. As a Legal Profession, I have provided extra time and care to client's who have suffered great injustices whether from a partner or Law Enforcement ensuring their civil or criminal matter is handled with the utmost care and thorough work which can be completed with my gathered experience and know how, including Investigative Paralegal services. This desire to help others led to the formulation of "A Nosey Neighbor" which specializes in Pro Se Advocacy, Private Investigations, Victim Advocacy and Law Enforcement Liaison and Contract Paralegal Services.
If you need someone in your corner, fighting for you and providing honest and thorough work, time and experience. You have come to the right place and we are here to help you.
